Education: Graduate of Mars Hill College and Wake Forest University, obtained his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest (Phi Alpha Delta).

Representative Experience: Served as Superior Court Assistant District Attorney in Cumberland County (1955-56) and as Fayetteville City Attorney (1972-74)

Honors, Awards and Notable Accomplishments: He is in the North Carolina Bar Association General Practice Hall of Fame; certified mediator and member of the Panel of the American Arbitration Association. He is a member of the Cumberland County (President, 1980-81), North Carolina, and American Bar Associations. He also is a member of the Twelfth Judicial District and North Carolina State Bars and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers (Governor, 1975-77), U.S. Army Intelligence (1956-57).
